Moynahan Scrapbook

I have collected A LOT of "Moynahan" stories over the years and the stories where I have not yet established a DNA or paper trail linking them to MY Moynahan roots, I file here in my "Moynahan Scrapbook".

Through the years of researching Moynahans from Kerry, Ireland, I have come across so many different surname spellings:

Moynahan, Moynihan, Moynehan, Moynaghan, Monahan, Monaghan, Monahan, Monaham, Monihan, Monehan, Moinahan, Moinahen, Minihane, Minahan, Minihan, Minehan, Monyhan, Moneyhan, Mynahan, Mynihane, (and many other spelling variants

An Irish surname of great antiquity, "Moynahan" originates from the Irish language Ó Muimhneacháin, which literally translates as "male descendant of the Munsterman". The surname is most popular in Counties Cork and Kerry, in Ireland which form part of the province of Munster.

Who would the courts believ? Rathmore, Kerry cousins or a Canadian son?
